F Keyboard or Q Keyboard? How to Choose
F and Q layouts solve the same problem with different key arrangements. There is no single choice that is best for every user; your language, current skill, workplace requirements and willingness to retrain all matter.
Q is globally common
QWERTY/Q layouts are widely used on computers, software shortcuts and international devices. If you already type quickly on Q, switching has a real learning cost.
F was designed around Turkish
The Turkish F layout places letters according to Turkish frequency and aims to distribute workload across fingers. It can be valuable for users who type Turkish heavily or need it for a specific exam or workplace.
Switching temporarily reduces speed
When you learn a new layout, muscle memory competes with old habits. Expect a temporary drop in WPM and more mistakes. That does not mean the new layout is worse; it means your motor pattern is still developing.
Choose according to your goal
If a job or exam requires a layout, that requirement comes first. Otherwise, the layout you can use accurately, comfortably and consistently may be the most practical choice.

- Practice the layout you will actually use in the target task.
