TEST SYSTEM
See what is measured from the moment you start until the result screen, and what each metric means.
Choose 15, 30, 60 or 120 seconds. Short tests are useful for quick sprints; longer tests give a more realistic view of sustainable speed.
Easy texts use simpler everyday language, medium texts add more varied structures, and hard texts include more punctuation, numbers and complex sentences.
The timer does not run when the page opens. It begins when you type the first character; in verified mode, the server attempt starts at the same time.
When time runs out or the text is completed, WPM, CPM, accuracy, score and word/keystroke statistics are calculated.
WPM means words per minute. Typing tests commonly treat five correct characters as one standard word so results remain comparable even when actual word lengths differ.
CPM is the number of correctly typed characters per minute. WPM is easier to read as a speed benchmark, while CPM shows character-level output more directly; using both gives a fuller picture.
Accuracy shows how closely what you typed matches the target text. A high WPM with frequent mistakes may not translate to useful everyday performance. A good practice routine aims to raise speed while keeping accuracy high.
Typed words are compared with target words in the same order. Exact matches count as correct; differences count as incorrect. Seeing both character and word-level results helps identify whether errors come from isolated keys or whole words.
When signed in, a temporary test attempt is prepared on the server before the test begins. The first keystroke marks its start time. At the end, your typed text and timing values are checked again on the server. Valid attempts are stored as verified and can be used in your profile and leaderboard.
Quick warm-up and peak-speed sprint.
Short but more balanced performance check.
A useful standard for general comparison.
A stronger measure of rhythm, focus and sustainable speed.
