Common Turkish Typing Errors and How to Practice Them

Turkish typing adds several language-specific letters that can expose weak finger habits, especially on keyboards used for multiple languages. Focused practice can reduce repeated mistakes without sacrificing rhythm.

Train Turkish characters deliberately

Build short drills around ğ, ü, ş, ı, ö and ç instead of hoping they improve inside random paragraphs.

Watch dotted and dotless i

The distinction between i/İ and ı/I is meaningful in Turkish. Practice both lowercase and uppercase forms, especially when Shift is involved.

Include punctuation in practice

Commas, periods, apostrophes and quotation marks affect real writing. Hard-level texts are useful because they force more varied key transitions.

Do not ignore capitalization

Shift timing can break rhythm. Practice capital letters within sentences rather than only typing lowercase word lists.

Measure in Turkish when Turkish is the target

Your WPM can differ by language. If you need Turkish performance, compare Turkish tests with previous Turkish tests rather than mixing languages.

Practical checklist

  • Use the Turkish test-language filter.
  • Practice special letters in real words and sentences.
  • Review the exact keys that repeat in your error log.
